The Hotel

Mein name is Bear, actually Teddy Bear, to be precise. Anyway, please call me Ted.

One day my "human" had the brilliant idea to create a romantic hideaway, where all daily worries could be left behind on the doorstep. She and I have transformed a lovely old Lower Saxony farmstead into a little gem of a hotel, the „Baerenhaus“ (Bearhouse).

Occasionally a bear can be met but you can be rest assured that we are are not trying to be Disneyland. Even if you are not partial to teddies you’ll feel completely at home.

The interiors of our seven romantic ensuite rooms are reflecting the anglophile taste of my human. Sumptuous imported fabrics, squashy couches, pretty antiques, canopied beds and lots of lovingly chosen details. We don’t know if you really want to but if staying in contact with the tough world out there is essential for you, we have  fast-speed WI-FI (free of charge) available in the entire building. Also mod cons such as flatscreen-tv, radio, fridge, hair-dryer, tea- and coffee-making facilities will  make you comfortable whereas the little things like umbrellas and rubber-duckies will make you feel right at home.

We are serving a beary breakfast-buffet (room-service is also available) with lots of choice for all tastes but we are too small for a restaurant. No worries though, since there are recommendable restaurants in the immediate neighbourhood.

The Lueneburg Heath is offering a huge variety of attractions and sightseeing. Gorgeous medieval towns like Celle and Lueneburg and city-life in Hamburg and Hannover. The parks such as Heidepark Soltau, Wildpark Lueneburger Heide, Serengeti-Park Hodenhagen, Walsroder Vogelpark, as well as events, museums (Bergen-Belsen Memorial) and great shopping in the Designer Outlet Mall in Soltau. Three golf-courses close-by, local tennis- and indoor-squash-courts, one of the largest indoor skiing-slopes in Europe, fantastic indoor swimming pools (some fed by natural salt-springs) with water-slides for the kids. Romance is in the air when you go on a horse-drawn carriage ride through the blossoming heather, taking along a gourmet-picknick, freshly made by us. We can definately keep you busy for weeks!

Let us spoil you and it could be the beginning of a beary friendship…..

Yours

Ted and his human Bettina Brockmann
